Now that we have studied two very different countries but with similarities concerning human right violations, I want you to connect the experiences the Lost Boys had in Sudan to the current state of North Korea.
Both the lost boys, and North Korea citizens have no rights. They have close family but other then that the top people and others don't care about them. They also both have or had tough lives in the situation.
In both NK (North Korea) and Sudan, the group with more power is using their power to try and control everything. It has caused a lot of distress and negative affects on the opposite, weaker group.
Both North Korea and Sudan have experienced hard times. For the last 60 years North Korea has had deceiving, conniving, leaders. Sudan on the otherhand, had a Civil War that not only split the country, but also many families.
Similarities: Both the Lost Boys and Koreans were/are afraid and hungry. Both groups of people had had families get separated. Both the Lost Boys and Koreans had/have bad governments, Sudan with the muslims and North Korea with the Kim Jong family. Both ethnic groups are working/worked hard to get out of their countries. Both showed or is showing lots of courage, hope, and perseverance.
In NK and in Sudan both the people living there didn't have a lot of rights. A lot of families in both NK and Sudan don't have a lot a money. They also don't have a lot of food and so a lot of people die from starvation.
The Lost Boys of Sudan and the citizens North Korea are both in very bad condition. They both have limited rights, not very good government, citizens are trying to escape the country, and citizens have limited food.
Both North Korea and Sudan use their power over their citizens. Also many people dislike their government in both countries. Many people are in poverty in both countries also.
In both countries, the citizens don't have the tools and freedoms and necessities we have here. For example they don't have good running water in Sudan, and in North Korea, they don't have freedom, or good health care. Sudanese also don't have good healthcare. Part of this is because of the education in Sudan is limited, and in North Korea, good education is just not provided. They both live in small houses, and with little food.

In both countries, they are in a civil war and they don't have the technology like we have here. The citizens from both countries don't have privileges, and live in small houses with little food. Most are malnourished, and they want to escape once they go through the reality of the countries.
The Southern Sudanese people were put through hunger and starvation because the government was torn apart and could not treat the people with food and basic necessities. The North Koreans have a government that decides not to give food to many people. These to places are similar because both of these countries people are hungry and do not have stable governments.
They lost boys had nothing and were starving. This is also happening in North Korea because Kim Jung-Un is starving his people by giving them limited resources. The only people not starving in North Korea is the wealthy and privileged. This also applied to the Southern Sudanese people because a few were wealthy and were able to go to another country quite easily.
